Formed in 1980, the Auburn Astronomical Society has been serving Auburn University and all of south-central Alabama by providing opportunities for the general public to take a closer look at the wonders of the night sky.

The mission of the Auburn Astronomical Society is to cultivate a wonderful atmosphere for astronomy by bringing together astronomers from all walks of life. The purpose of this group is to create many opportunities for the general public to take a closer look at the wonders of the night sky.
