Greetings Star People,

This is your reminder of the Star Party, Saturday night. It looks like the
summer hazies are here a little early this year, but at least rain is not in
the forecast. Sunset is around 7:40; dark a little after 8:00. It promises
to be a warm but pleasant night under the summer stars. This may be your
last chance to catch the galaxies in the Coma-Virgo region and we'll also
have a preview of the summer's globular clusters and planetary nebulae. Be
sure to bring the binoculars and chaise longue.

At the request of some on the list, I'm reposting the directions to the field:

I'll assume for now that, (1) you have an Alabama state map, or (2) that
you're familiar with the area and can find your way to Eclectic.

Take Alabama 63 N, from Eclectic.
Pass Cotton's Bar-b-que at mile marker 9.
At mile marker 11,turn right onto county road 357.
Go one mile.
The field is on the left.
Look for the red and blue reflectors at the entrance.

If you plan to leave early, please park your vehicle heading back toward the
entrance in order to prevent headlight trauma to the die hards. ;-)

Hope to see you there,

Russell
